Seniors Food Support Program is available to Island seniors who meet the criteria are eligible for a one-time $100 grocery card for Sobeys affiliated locations on Prince Edward Island including Sobeys, Foodland, Participating Co-Ops and Lawton’s Drugs (limit one per household).

You may not be eligible if:

  • you are senior 65 and over that reside on the Island full-time
  • you pay for your own groceries and self-identifies as living on a low income

Health card

  • valid health card with no photo, name and address
  • valid health card with photo, name and address
  • MCP (Medical Care Plan) number - Valid ambulance/dental services card
  • Department of Immigration, Skills and Labour identification number
  • Department of Immigration, Skills and Labour file number (Income Support Card).

You can apply through this link, by dialing 2-1-1 (assistance is available Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm), through this printable application form or by visiting your nearest Social Programs office for a copy of the application which you can fill out and submit at the office (addresses for Social Programs offices are listed below).
