To qualify for this program you must be resident of Edmonton who experiences temporary or long-term mobility issues that prevent and restrict waste disposal activity.
Eligible participants do not have someone who can complete waste disposal on their behalf.
Proof of residency in Province/ Territory

- household bill
- gas
- electricity
- cable television
- telephone
- driver's license
- vehicle registration or car insurance
- membership in social or professional organization
- Other:
- bank information
- employment information
Photo ID
For example:
- driver’s license
- passport
- other government-issued photo ID, such as a non-driver photo ID (Saskatchewan), British Columbia Services Card, Ontario photo card, General identification card (Nunavut), Voluntary ID (PEI), etc.
You can apply for this program in two ways:
Complete and submit the [online application form](https://www.edmonton.ca/programs_services/garbage_waste/assisted-waste-collection-form.
You can also apply via telephone by calling 311. Through this method, you will be contacted by telephone within 10 business days to arrange an interview.
You must also complete the following steps:
Download, print, and ask your health care provider to sign the authorized health care provider form. Keep the completed form until you are contacted by Waste Services on next steps.
After the submission of the online application form, the City of Edmonton will schedule and visit the applicant home to conduct an at-home interview. During this stage, Waste Services will direct applicants to submit the completed authorized health care provider form. This form can be submitted electronically, or in-person during the at-home interview.
After the at-home interview applicants will be notified of their approval status, and approved applicants will receive Assisted Waste Collection service.
