SAJE Housing Agreements (SHAs):
If you are between the ages of 19 and your 21st birthday, you could be eligible for an SHA for up to two years if you were living in a foster home arrangement, contracted agency placement or out of care living arrangements immediately prior to turning 19, and you:
- Reached their 19th birthday while on a Youth Agreement, a Continuing Custody Order or were under the personal guardianship of a director, OR
- achieved permanency between the ages of 12-19 (i.e., adoption after being in care), OR
- Have 24 months of cumulative time in care between the ages of 12-19, in a range of in- and out-of-care statuses, OR
- Were in a comparable arrangement under Indigenous law.
SAJE Support Agreements (SSAs):
If you are between the ages of 19 and your 21st birthday, you could be eligible for an SHA for up to two years if you:
- Reached their 19th birthday while on a Youth Agreement, a Continuing Custody Order or were under the personal guardianship of a director, OR
- achieved permanency between the ages of 12-19 (i.e., adoption after being in care), OR

SAJE Rent Supplement Program:
To be eligible for the Rent Supplement, you must be between the ages of 19 and 26 (up to your 27th birthday), be renting in the private rental market in B.C., and you:
- Reached their 19th birthday while on a Youth Agreement, a Continuing Custody Order or were under the personal guardianship of a director, OR
- achieved permanency between the ages of 12-19 (i.e., adoption after being in care), OR
- Have 24 months of cumulative time in care between the ages of 12-19, in a range of in- and out-of-care statuses, OR
- Were in a comparable arrangement under Indigenous law.

Proof of housing situation
For example:
- letter from landlord about your housing situation
- eviction notice
- disconnection notice
- police report about an incident involving your housing
- moving company quote or invoice
- list of repairs needed in home
- list of expenses for renovations needed for independence in the home
- proof of home ownership (mortgage, property ownership)
Proof of legal status
A document showing citizenship or immigration status in Canada. For example:
- citizenship certificate
- confirmation document
- record of landing, confirmation of permanent residence;
- permanent resident card
- visitor record
- temporary resident permit
- study permit
- positive notice of decision
- verification of status document
- registration date with Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada
- passport
- foreign passport
Proof of residency in Province
For example:
- lease agreement
- rent receipt
- household bill
- gas
- electricity
- cable television
- telephone
- driver's license
- vehicle registration or car insurance
- membership in social or professional organization
- Other:
- bank information
- employment information

Rental Supplement Program:
You can apply for a Rent Supplement on the SAJE Housing webpage. Links are posted twice yearly (typically each February and September), and applications are accepted over a two-week period.
