Rent Supplement Assistance Program

Easy application

Tax filing not required

Rent Supplement Assistance Program helps households in need get affordable, adequate and suitable rental accommodation.

Through this program you can have your rent reduced to 30% of your adjusted household income.

Your household must be in at least one of the following situations:

  • You live in a crowded or inadequate dwelling, and you currently pay less than 30% of your income for shelter, but basic shelter costs for an adequate and suitable dwelling available in your market would cost 30% or more of your income
  • You pay 30% or more of your income for shelter and an adequate and suitable dwelling available in your market area would cost 30% or more of your income.
  • You have a need for special purpose accommodation
  • If your household does not have a special purpose housing need, your total household income must be at or below the Housing Income Limit which depends on your household size and where you live in New Brunswick
