The Child Care Services Subsidy Program is an income tested program designed to help families with the cost of child care fees at regulated child care services. The Child Care Subsidy Program enables eligible families to access regulated child care services by eliminating or minimizing cost within available resources.

A statement from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to each taxpayer, every year, after you have filed a tax return. It tells you the amount of income tax you owe, or the amount of the refund you will get.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Child Benefit

The Newfoundland and Labrador Child Benefit (NLCB) is a provincial non-taxable amount paid monthly to help low-income families with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. You can get this benefit if your family net income is below $25,385. This benefit is combined with the Canada Child Benefit into a single monthly payment.

$34.08 per month for first child, $36.16 per month for second child, $38.83 per month for third child, $41.66 per month for each additional child.

If you are caring for a child younger than 18 with a disability, the Special Child Welfare Allowance Program helps you buy items and/or services which are needed due to your child’s disability. The amount of monthly help for your family is determined through a financial needs test.

Prenatal-Early Childhood Nutrition Supplement

The Prenatal-Early Childhood Nutrition Supplement (PECNS) can give you $150 each month if you are a pregnant mother living on a low income or have a child under the age of five. It will help with the cost of extra food during pregnancy and infancy. You must be a permanent resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.

$150 per month and one-time payment of $150 per birth.
