Home Energy Savings Program

Easy application

Tax filing required

For owners of single, row and semi-detached housing, you can get help for energy retrofits with a grant up to $5,000 per unit from the Home Energy Savings Program.

The home must be your primary residence (the main place you live).

All repairs will be identified through an energy evaluation, which will tell you the best things to do for energy efficiency. A post-energy evaluation will also be needed to confirm that the retrofit was completed.

The Home Energy Savings Program, through Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation (NLHC) will provide a before-and-after energy inspection of your home.

The Home Energy Savings Program is available if you are a homeowner with income of $32,500 or less.

You cannot get this grant if you own a condo.

What types of repairs are eligible?
