Provincial Home Support Program

Easy application

Tax filing not required

The Provincial Home Support Program can help you to live independently in your home for as long as possible. Whether you require support on a short-term or long-term basis, the Home Support Program may be for you if you need help with daily living activities. Home support services are intended to supplement the support provided by your family and other informal caregiver.

The Provincial Home Support Program provides non-professional help with personal care, homemaking, respite care and behavioural support.

The Provincial Home Support Program is available to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador including seniors (65+), adults with disabilities, children with disabilities, or those who require end of life care or short-term support upon discharge from hospital.

How will my eligibility be determined?

An assessment will be completed by either a social worker or a community health nurse with your regional health authority to assess your needs and identify what supports you required.

Other professionals may be consulted to help complete the assessment. You may be eligible for financial help for the cost of home support services. A financial assessment will let you know what you need to pay towards the cost of your home support service.

If you need home support, please contact your local regional health authority for more information.
