The Nova Scotia Affordable Living Tax Credit (NSALTC) gives extra money to lower and modest income individuals and families.

For July 2022 to June 2023, the program gives a maximum annual credit of $255.00 for an individual or a couple, plus $60.00 for each child. The credit is reduced by 5% of adjusted family net income over $30,000.

Your eligibility will depend on your annual income. To receive the maximum amount, you must have an income under $30,000. However, you may still be eligible if your income is over this amount.

File your annual tax return to get this benefit.

This benefit is paid quarterly along with the GST/HST credit.
