The Education and Training Incentive (ETI) provides financial help to adult learners with low incomes who are enrolled in an approved program such as adult basic education, workforce development programs or skills training.

The ETI is given as a monthly benefit to adult learners in addition to their other income assistance benefits:

  • single adults without children or dependents will receive $50 per month.
  • families with one child will receive $100 per month.
  • families with two or more children will receive $200 per month.

You must attend programming full-time. However, you may be approved for the ETI if you need an accommodation for your disability, which results in an extended program plan. Training centres will determine the eligibility for an extended program plan. Please reach out to your training centre for further information.

You are eligible to apply for the Education and Training Incentive if:

For questions about ETI eligibility, contact your training centre.

To access the ETI, you must:

  • your Ministry of Social Services Case Number.

These numbers are found on letters or emails you receive from the Ministry of Social Services.
