If you are a resident of the Northwest Territories in need of health services not covered by provincial health insurance, you may be eligible for the new and revised Extended Health Benefits Program.

If you are 60 years of age or older and a Métis or Non-Indigenous resident of the Northwest territories, you may be eligible for health coverage under the Extended Health Benefits for Seniors Program.

If you are a Métis resident of the Northwest territories, you may be eligible for health coverage under the Métis Health Benefits Program.

The GreenShield Cares Essential Medicines program provides free of charge prescription medication to individuals living without private prescription drug coverage, or to those who are unable to access benefits from a provincial drug program.

The National Pharmacare program provides Canadians with free coverage for contraceptives and certain diabetes medication.

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for a range of health benefits that are not covered through other social programs, private insurance plans, or provincial or territorial health insurance.
