Nova Scotia

The Nova Scotia Child Benefit is a non-taxable amount paid monthly to help low- and modest-income families with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. These amounts are combined with the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) into a single monthly payment.

$127.08 per month for first child, $127.09 per month for second child, $127.08 per month for third child, $127.08 per month for each additional child.

If you are a dependent child under 25 and your parent is living with a disability or they die, you may be able to get a monthly payment from this benefit if your parent was getting Canada Pension Plan benefits. If you live in Quebec, you should refer to the Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) instead, and contact Retraite Québec if you have any questions.
