To get this benefit you need to first apply for the following benefit(s) if you're eligible:

The Discounted Bus Pass Program provides bus passes at a lower cost to people living on lower incomes.

You must be receiving a Social Services benefit to be able to get the bus pass.

Discounted bus passes are available to people who are currently receiving benefits from at least one of the following programs:

  • Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS)
  • Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability Program (SAID)
  • Saskatchewan Employment Supplement (SES)

Discounted bus passes are available for people living in:

  • Regina
  • Saskatoon
  • Prince Albert
  • Moose Jaw
  • North Battleford
  • Swift Current
  • Yorkton

To buy a discounted bus pass, you need to visit your local public transit office.

You will need to show proof that you receive one of the Social Services benefits above. This can be as simple as showing deposit advice or cheque stub as part of the application process.
