The Prenatal-Early Childhood Nutrition Supplement (PECNS) can give you $150 each month if you are a pregnant mother living on a low income or have a child under the age of five. It will help with the cost of extra food during pregnancy and infancy. You must be a permanent resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) can help you pay for some prescription medications. The plan will pay for costs where the services are not or no longer paid for by a third party.

The Rental Housing Program can help you if you are living on a low income and you cannot get suitable and affordable rental housing on the private market. If your rent is not paid through Income Support, your rent will be based on 25%of your total net monthly income.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Child Benefit (NLCB) is a provincial non-taxable amount paid monthly to help low-income families with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. You can get this benefit if your family net income is below $25,385. This benefit is combined with the Canada Child Benefit into a single monthly payment.
$34.08 per month for first child, $36.16 per month for second child, $38.83 per month for third child, $41.66 per month for each additional child.

If you live in Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island or Saskatchewan and you file your taxes, you may be able to get this benefit to offset the cost of the government of Canada’s pollution pricing.
